About Us

Holding a male dark morph Rough-legged Hawk.  He's about to be released to continue his migration after being banded.

Left: My name is Bristol. I've worked in commercial salmon fishing and wildlife biology, and have MS in Science Education. Right now I'm teaching 7th grade science in Dallas, Oregon. You should never go on a hike with me if you want to get somewhere quick, because I'll be keying out wildflowers and mushrooms, looking at lichens, and watching for birds.

Right: My name is Arin. I spent two summers   surveying and banding owls in northern California and two summers banding seabirds in Svalbard. I completed my MS in Arctic ecology in Northern Norway and illustrated my first children's book on Arctic ecosystems. Currently working as a biologist in Alaska. Follow my Instagram  @_pelagos_ for more art!
